20 CHARACTERISTICS OF SUCCESSFUL WORKSITE WELLNESS PROGRAMS

Don Powell, Ph.D., President and CEO, AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR PREVENTIVE MEDICINE

Research has shown that worksites providing wellness programs receive an average return on investment (ROI) of $3.27 to 1 due to reduced health care costs and $2.73 to 1 due to reduced absenteeism. This has led many companies to provide wellness programs or plan to do so. The components of these programs, as well as how much of a ROI they generate, can differ greatly. This session will describe a best practice approach organizations can use to implement successful wellness programs.
