Eric Silverman

Principal and Owner, Silverman Benefits Group

Eric Silverman, Principal and Owner of Baltimore Maryland based Silverman Benefits Group, is considered as one of the most recognized authorities on enhanced employee funded benefits (the industry formerly known as “voluntary”).

Eric is widely known as a subject matter expert with more than 17 years of employee benefit sales, marketing, management and recruiting experience. He is often sought after and interviewed by various journalists from multiple industry publications such as ThinkAdvisor (formerly LifeHealthPro), BenefitsPro, and Employee Benefit Adviser online and print magazines.

Over the last decade alone, Eric has recruited, trained, and developed more than 2,000 commission sales agents, interns and broker partners, which led to the securing of more than 2,500 commercial worksite payroll accounts and the generation of more than $65 million dollars in gross annualized revenue.

Prior to the insurance business, Eric had zero professional experience; starting his career as a college intern and quickly propelled into management; focusing most efforts on new business development through the procurement and development of new broker partners and the recruiting of college interns and career agents to support his broker focused initiative. His unique management style, coupled with his tenacious focus on detail, customer service, ethics and integrity are what has assured his consistent growth each quarter.

Eric has recently been nominated and elected to the Workplace Benefits Association Advisory Board and has been honored as a “Rising Star in Advising” by Employee Benefit Adviser magazine, voted as 1 of the top 30 “Benefit Pros to Follow” on Twitter, and can be found within EBA’s online magazine as a regularly featured monthly commentator.

Personally, Eric is originally from the DC area and went to college in Baltimore where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Towson University. Eric is a huge Baltimore Orioles baseball fan and is heavily involved in his community where he sits on the city’s board for youth baseball and volunteers as a little league head coach. Eric and his wife Megan reside in Harford County Maryland, just north of Baltimore, and they have two beautiful children, Dylan, 8, and Devin, 2.5.
